Tatsuya Tanaka's Diorama style figures: Miniature Calendars

Tanaka's art is just amazing. I was thinking, "This is simple but why didn't I think of this kind of art creation?"
I love arts, and I really appreciate artists in culture and arts. Well, I realized that people has different interests. Like me, I am a librarian and I am interested in reading. With that, my interest benefits my continuing profession and most especially, to help library users needs of information. So, maybe I had no time to think of Tanaka's unique art creation because I have my own self-interests or maybe I'm just jealous, hahaa (just kidding). Anyways, you can follow more of Tatsuya Tanaka's miniature calendars (http://miniature-calendar.com/).

#CheckThisOUT!

My name is Mallory Sullivan.

My therapist says I have an anxiety disorder.

My brother says I’m an “optimistic recluse.”

Everybody else says I'm a freak.

And they kind of have a point, because I haven't left the house in 67 days and only attend class via the webcam on my laptop. The person I talk to the most other than my mom and brother is the completely obnoxious BeamMeUp, and all we do is argue on New Mexico’s premiere alien message board.

But after yesterday, I have something: a chance. If I can win the homecoming crown by convincing resident hot popular guy and Friday Night Lights spawn Brad Kirkpatrick to go as my date, then maybe #stayathome will never appear next to the name @Mallory_Sullivan ever again.

First, I have to leave my room.

-SEARCH THIS BOOK IN OUR 'OPAC AREA' OR YOU COULD JUST SEE THIS BOOK AT THE 'NEW ACQUISITION AREA'. WANT TO BORROW? JUST GRAB THE BOOK AND LETS PROCESS IT IN OUR 'CIRCULATION AREA'. SEE YOU THERE! XOXO

“Dear Basketball” by Kobe Bryant

Dear Basketball,
From the moment
I started rolling my dad’s tube socks
And shooting imaginary
Game-winning shots
In the Great Western Forum
I knew one thing was real:

I fell in love with you.
A love so deep I gave you my all —
From my mind & body
To my spirit & soul.

As a six-year-old boy
Deeply in love with you
I never saw the end of the tunnel.
I only saw myself
Running out of one.

And so I ran.
I ran up and down every court
After every loose ball for you.
You asked for my hustle
I gave you my heart
Because it came with so much more.

I played through the sweat and hurt
Not because challenge called me
But because YOU called me.
I did everything for YOU
Because that’s what you do
When someone makes you feel as
Alive as you’ve made me feel.

You gave a six-year-old boy his Laker dream
And I’ll always love you for it.
But I can’t love you obsessively for much longer.
This season is all I have left to give.
My heart can take the pounding
My mind can handle the grind
But my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.

And that’s OK.
I’m ready to let you go.
I want you to know now
So we both can savor every moment we have left together.
The good and the bad.
We have given each other
All that we have.

And we both know, no matter what I do next
I’ll always be that kid
With the rolled up socks
Garbage can in the corner
:05 seconds on the clock
Ball in my hands.
5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1

Love you always,
Kobe

Books in Brazil can be used to ride the Subway for free? Really?

Brazil is one of the largest publishers in expanding their Ticket Books program, where books can be used to ride the subway for free. Each title has an RFID card embedded in the back cover that comes loaded with enough credit for 10 rides, which means that reader can simply scan their books at the turnstyle just like a normal subway pass. When the book runs out of trips, it can be recharged online.
The Ticket Books collection inclued ten titles: Peanuts: Friendship. That’s What Friends Are For by Charles M. Schulz, Garfield: Sorry by Jim Davis,Hundred Love Sonnets by Pablo Neruda, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Art of War by Sun Tzu, Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of Baskerville by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Murder Alley by Agatha Christie, Chives In Trouble! by Mauricio de Sousa, andQuintana Pocket by Mario Quintana. The books also featured cover art inspired by subway maps.

Most book lovers perceive it...

PROUD TO BE TOP LIBRARIAN!

I know that you won't read my 'about me' thingy at the side bar (just kidding...). Anyways, I wanted to introduce myself (again) that I am your Circulation Librarian at your most precious, and wonderful library in our district--TOP LIBRARY!

I entitled this blog as "Roll Librarian". Do you want to know why? Well, I like that you should first comment below why ROLL LIBRARIAN. Hmmm, What do you think?

I know-I know, I'm making my self-introduction exaggerated but my point why I created this blog is for online communication with you! I can share you with our new acquisition resources, current books to read for specific ages; genres; and others. Also, since I have been a Circulation Librarian for many years, and I wanted to share my thoughts, interests and ideas that you would surely like me as a friend (I'm pretty confident with that!). We be friends! Call me C-J. Just approach me anytime at our Top Library, and say "hi."
